1. How does Hockeypicks.com work?
Once you sign up, you'll use the Confidence Meter to predict how strongly you feel about each team winning.
Confidence Meter Guide:
51% - 54%: Slight lean (basically a coin flip).
55% - 62%: Pretty confident (gut pick, little research).
63% - 72%: Very confident (you've done some homework).
73% - 100%: Lock of the Day (highest confidence).
2. How does the "Your Confidence Level" work?
As you make picks, the system calculates your average confidence level. This shows how bold or cautious your overall strategy is. Your level is displayed above the first matchup box, and once saved, it contributes to the community average.
Tip: Be honest with your picks - it makes the consensus stronger for everyone.
3.
Why can't my Confidence Level go past 72%?
Without a cap, most people would just pick 100%. That wouldn't reflect real confidence. Keeping it under 72% forces more honest, balanced selections.
4.
When I click on "View Picks" are those my picks?
No - that's the community consensus picks. To see your own, click the Following link at the top - your picks appear first.
5.
What does following (xx) mean?
In the "Top Scouts", "Top Scorers", "Top Pickers", "Most Followed", "Hottest Pickers" pages on Hockeypicks.com, if you like another user's style, you can follow them. Click Follow beside their name, and their daily picks will appear in your "Following" feed.
6.
What does followers mean?
It's the number of people tracking your picks. The more active (and accurate) you are, the more followers you'll gain
7.
How can I see the top picks of people I follow?
When you follow someone, their picks appear in your feed, ranked from their highest confidence pick down to their lowest.
8.
How does the Gold, Silver and Bronze ranking work in the daily record area?
Each day at 6:00 PM ET, we collect all users picks:
Gold -> Highest community confidence pick.
Silver -> Second highest.
Bronze -> The underdog/value pick (lowest winning percentage).
9.
Why is the Bronze Pick chosen that way?
Gold and Silver usually favor favorites. Bronze is designed to give you a live underdog for parlays and Pro Line combos.
10. How do I earn a Cup?
Go 4-0 or better on a slate, and you'll get a Cup in your trophy case (My Account page) and a mention in the Honor Roll.
11. How does the Rink Rat system work?
Your Rink Rat Average tracks the accuracy of your last 100 picks. It's a quick snapshot of how hot (or cold) you've been.
12. How come I'm not listed in the TOP SCORERS or MOST FOLLOWED page?
